This is a quick shot of Squizzer in the garden taken yesterday through the kitchen window. I have had rather a trying day today. After helping Steve lift a head gasket into a Morris Minor, I was late getting to the shops. Of course there was a queue outside so eventually I got in and did the shopping. When I came out it was hot so after putting my shopping in the boot I put my jacket in as well and wham slammed the lid shut! Of course because I had only unlocked the boot, it automatically locks itself and, where was my car key, you guessed it, inside my jacket which was now in the locked boot. I had to phone Steve and explain where my spare key was and wait for him to come over to give it to me.
In the meantime, I had been speaking to a very nice lady who had lost her husband 3 months ago with cancer. She said that she was thankful that he had passed away when he did because she had him at home with her when he passed away. She also said that he had known he was dying and had told her his wishes for the funeral and family and friends had been able to attend. Such a difference to what is occurring now! Anyway, she is having to do things that he used to do, e.g. buy a new car because she doesn't think hers will pass an MOT, etc. She said that she had been pleased to talk to me and I also said that it had been nice to talk to her. In fact, I think it made up for all the other problems I had experienced because I then drove over to another town to buy some eggs from the local egg lady but she wasn't on the market so I then drove to the Doctor's to collect my prescription. Of course it meant queuing again. By the time I had come back, the morning had gone.
Anyway, there are some good things that have happened due to the lockdown so it's important to be grateful for that. Thank you for all your kind comments and Favs. It is always much appreciated and I will try to go for a walk this afternoon and get some better photos.
Wonderful capture, Rosie! Glad your difficult day was redeemed by that unexpected conversation with a stranger. We all have many blessings if we will just be watching for them with expectancy! :-)
It can be the little unexpected joys that often can give us the perspective we so need. I like the detail and innocence in this little Squizzer that you've captured.
Lovely shot of the squirrel. Seen the keys shut in the boot a few times, I've even seen the kids locked in the car at the same time !
Too young to get out of child seats and do the door handle.
I am glad something good came out of the difficulties you describe. You are right, there are some great things happening amidst all the awfulness of the situation.
