I couldn't believe it when I looked out of the kitchen window and saw this female sparrowhawk attacking a starling. After I had taken a few quick photos, I went out to shoo the bird away but it flew off with the starling clutched in it's feet. Poor little bird. I suppose that's nature but it still upsets me to think that this little bird may have been eating the food I put out only minutes earlier.
