I was surprised to see this little fellow sitting in the place where I usually see the heron when I see him at the Finger Lakes. I thought I was going to fall in the lake stretching over to get this shot. He stood there preening so it was a job to get a pic without his head being halfway round his back! The things I do for 365! Well actually I do it for myself really. This is only the second time I have seen a little egret and I've never seen one at Priory before so I was really pleased to see him. He looked quite fluffy. I love their huge yellow feet. They look a bit out of proportion with their long legs!
