I have just looked in my bird book and realise that the moorhen in the front is a juvenile probably out with her Mum. They were on the path between the Finger Lakes and were pecking about in the grass. It's unusual to see them out of the water which is why I thought I would get this shot. I inadvertently titled the image itself thinking it was a male and female but that was before I looked in the book - silly me!
