I liked this shot of him because his feathers are all standing out. I couldn't believe it this morning when I got within 4 ft of one of the red legged partridges but I didn't have a camera in my hand. I startled her in the garden and she ran across the lawn and flew onto the fence but I crept round the conifer and just stood there talking gently to her and she didn't seem to mind my presence. After about 3 or 4 minutes she decided to fly off but I don't know where her husband was as they usually appear together.
