After discovering the blue tits showing an interest in the nest box, I phoned RSPB at Sandy to ask whether they had any nesting wool and they had 4 packets left so I asked them to keep a couple. I then drove up there this afternoon and showed the ladies in the shop the picture of the blue tit at the nest box - they were quite thrilled to see it as they said that they sell the boxes but never know whether anyone successfully has any babies hatch out in them.
Anyway, I can't go to RSPB without taking my camera. At first I walked up towards the feeders at the gate and as I walked back I saw this wren. He was flitting about on a sign which read caution - very appropriate as I pointed my camera at him.
What a smashing capture, well done. I have an RSPB nest box which has been in the garden for two or three years but so far the birds only seem to go in and out in the summer/autumn but have shown no inclination to nest as yet, fingers crossed for this year!.
Lovely capture and interesting story Rosie, my sister-in-law has a nesting box mounted on a wall in her garden its been there many years and has Blue Tits in it every year without fail:)
