After having a couple of unsuccessful days trying to photograph the kingfishers, I was so please today to get a lot of nice shots. He has decided to perch on a branch that is near the water rather than in sight from where I sit. However, he can't outwit me! I placed my tripod on the lower branch and voila - loads of good shots. I had to watch to see when he flew into the bank as I couldn't see it from where I was sitting so it was a bit nerve wracking not knowing whether I had my camera focused on the correct spot. However, it was so I was really pleased. I took another camera with me with a 300mm lens in case he decided to perch on his usual spot but he didn't so I didn't have to use it.
