I have just had a delivery from AO of a new mini laptop to take away with me and I managed to sneak that in without Steve knowing despite him being here. I really am being naughty at the moment but I'm determined to make this trip a trip of a lifetime. You're only here once and once I'm gone my children will soon spend my money. Anyway, I gave them both a substantial sum of money last year so I think it's good to do that while you are still alive to see them enjoy it. I gave my daughter money for the deposit for a house and so it's nice to see her in a brand new house. I always treat my children both the same so I gave my son the same amount which he used to pay off his credit card bill.
Rosie ,it is always good to treat yourself with a little luxury or something you fancy from time to time . Since I have been widowed I have always treated myself around Christmas usually Jan ! ( we always treated each other at this time of the year !!) This year after much deliberation and research I have decided on a New Kenwood Chef ! in the old style and not in the retro style that seems to be all the go at the moment I hope it will be as solid and faithful as my old one which I had for well over 30 yrs -

Sounds like you have got things pretty well covered, and it would be a shame to have your trip of a lifetime without the things you need to enjoy it to the full.
