His outside gaff by rosiekind

His outside gaff

I nearly had a nasty accident with Bas this morning. I leaned into his cage in the conservatory to sneak a bit of dirty newspaper out and he flew out of the cage. The awful thing was that I had the conservatory door wide open but fortunately, he didn't fly out of the door! That was a near miss! I soon got hold of him and took him to his outside cage so that he could enjoy the sunshine while it was here. It has now clouded up so I think we have had it for today. The weather lady is just telling me that it is going to be more summery over the next few days. Thank goodness for that
Sounds like he's up for an adventure! He has a lovely blue eye

I adore birds. Lovely shot of this handsome guy. Is he a cockatoo? That was scary. I've had that same "almost" experience before too. As a teen I raised parakeets in a large walk in double doored outdoor aviary my Dad built for me. I always had one to several in the house.... Those were the ones I had the scares with......... open doors.

@aglennc yes he's a cockatoo and he's so crafty and quick. Open doors are so tempting for him but I don't think he would want to go away from us but I wouldn't want to find out

Sounds like you had a close call there! Alls well that ends well though. He's lovely!

Sounds like he wants to be out of his cage for a big flight - that's what cockatoos do!
