After looking in the field for the stonechat, I turned round and said "red kite" because he was swooping quite low. I forgot to say that I had one swooping over the garden really low the other day when I was in the kitchen and although my camera was on the worktop, I was so mesmerized that I couldn't pick it up - silly me! I wonder whether the reason I haven't seen many little birds in the garden is due to the fact that the kite seems to be swooping over.
Great capture. Sometimes it is good to just look and see rather than rushing with the camera and missing the bird and the shot! There is always next time - as you have demonstrated.
