The mallards at the hide were a bit fed up because the pond is still frozen over so they had to treat carefully as they crossed to see each other. It was funny because the male was sitting one side in the sun and the female was sitting the other side in the shade. Here she is deciding to cross over and get some sunshine.
the ice looks great in the sunshine. Makes a lovely background for this mallard - atleast in the photo anyway. I'm sure the mallard would prefer liquid water.
