Peterborough Cathedral

After posting photographs of flowers and cats for too many days, I took my camera on a trip to Peterborough. I visited the cathedral, which was founded as an Abbey in 655, and became a Cathedral in 1541 under Henry VIII. This shot was taken looking up at the central tower, but on the left you can see the original wooden ceiling of the nave, which dates from around 1230 to 1250. Each rhombus shape in the nave contains a painting of a person or animal - it is quite spectacular!
