Before and after the performance by rumpelstiltskin

Before and after the performance

I went to the Bridge Theatre on Saturday to see an excellent production of Julius Caesar. The top shot was taken half an hour before the play started. Actors and theatre staff were already on the stage area selling merchandise. They were joined by audience members with standing tickets, who became the Roman crowd. During the play, the stage rose up from different parts of the floor, and the audience were expertly moved around so they weren't in the way. They were all ordered to get down when Caesar was assassinated, and everyone hit the floor! It was all really well done, with great performances from David Calder (Caesar), Ben Wishaw (Brutus) and David Morrissey (Mark Antony); I tried to photograph them taking a bow in the second shot, despite the lady in front's standing ovation. The new theatre is a lovely space, and I'm looking forward to seeing future productions.
