Orstedsparken 3

Steel bridge

This steel bridge dating back to king Frederik VII is considered to be the oldest of its kind in Denmark.
It was constructed when they tore down the old North gate, allegendly it was used by the king when he wanted to take a horseback ride outside Copenhagen ...
It's rather splendid... I do hope it's still in use? And will we be seeing more of those attractive buildings in the background?

Stunning setting and beautifully captured! You can almost picture the King riding across the bridge.....with his security force accompanying him!

This is splendid! It reminds me very much of the centre of Rennes, Brittany‘s capital, where the river runs very close to the centre with beautiful houses along its length. Monster Fav;-)

@vignouse Yes it is open for everyone to use:
Would love to take pictures of the buildings, but there is a parking lot in front of them - haven't found a way to handle that.
@domenicododaro Thanks, did actually choose this picture because of the layers, which I tried to capture in different ways.
@rjajaa Thank you.
@stray_shooter Thanks a lot - I really like the bridge and have tried several times to capture it a good way, this version I like a lot.

@s4sayer I haven't been to Rennes, the water is part of the old defense work of Copenhagen - and the land to the left is the former Hahns Bastion ...
Thank you very much for your kind comment!
