Qadisha - Valley of God by ruthmouch

Qadisha - Valley of God

An absolutely wonderful day out with the girls, Alex and Albena, yesterday.

From Beirut we headed north along the coast and between Batroun and Tripoli turned east heading into and up the mountains.
We had a very pleasant time exploring the village of Tourza, where we met Siham and her daughter Nancy who made us coffee which we drank outside their door, under an apricot tree while testing the most delicious apricots!!!

The road home took us through Bcharre, at an elevation of 1500m, birthplace of Khalil Gibran, and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

As the sun dropped a little lower, the mist began to creep into the gorge of the Qadisha Valley, dominated by the church of St Saba.

This pic is especially for my dearest friend, Katy......there is a plan............xxx

Wow - the lighting and composition are both amazing - fav
