Laundry, plane, garbage.............. by ruthmouch

Laundry, plane, garbage..............

One solution to the last year's garbage crisis was to build a landfill site on a beach (!!) near the airport. Something which had not been anticipated was the large numbers of seagulls that would be attracted to scavenge for food. Recently these birds have been interfering with planes trying to land on the newer of our two runways which juts out into the sea so that the approach flight path is over the sea and not the city. Solution A: purchase electronic bird scaring devices Result: birds not scared! Solution B: use the old runway, so the approach for landing is directly over our house and the city.
Having checked arrivals I discovered that it's tricky to guess the exact flight path! I also realised that to achieve the image I had in mind that I would need taller buildings or a narrower street. Narrower got the job and so I planted myself on the pavement and waited, to the concern and interest of local shopkeepers, one of whom I was informed was a former Boxing Champion of Lebanon! I thought the laundry was perfect!
