Easter baking

A friend inspired me to try these Hot Cross Buns, recipe by Paul Hollywood. Simple to make, took a long walk while the dough was proving, obviously misunderstood the ''divide into equal parts'' instruction, have undeniable proof that my oven cooks unevenly, and slathered them with honey as we had no apricot jam. Very tasty!!!
i found out to my disadvantage that fresh yeast is so important. My yeast use by date was 2012! Indigestion taught me a lesson!

They look great. I tried gluten free ones this year and they were only just ok. Our son made some beer bread today as I'm short on yeast. The others in the household seemed to think it came out ok.
