Indian Creek Ranch by rvwalker

Indian Creek Ranch

This barn is on the east side of Bear Lake, which has finally frozen over. Bear Lake freezes only about one year in three, but this year has had a long cold spell with no wind, which is just what is needed for ice-over to occur.
Wow Ross. I love that lanscape you live in and portray so vividly. Another fav!

Beautiful scenery and beautiful shot, Ross. Great composition here. I like how you framed the barn by the trees and grasses. The red of the barn is a great contrast to the frozen landscape.

@siwainastromoy I would love to see Norway, Siw. Some of our larger lakes don't freeze here no matter how cold it gets. There is some ice skating here, but most people who go outdoors in winter ride snowmobiles or go ice fishing.

@lily is right, and as I have said before you are like an ambassador for your surrounds, like a tourism officer, you said once, if only you could paid.
Do you hang your work around town? I think you should go to the tourist office and make them buy your prints
January 23rd, 2013
@gigiz Thanks again, Gigi. Yes, I do have a few photos around town, and often have temporary exhibits with our camera club. It's funny, though. Even though I do sell a print occasionally, I don't want this to be a business because I feel some of the fun will be replaced by the pressure of marketing my work. So, I am willing to donate usage of my images to promote the valley to tourists. Another reason for this is that rural America is economically depressed, and if I can do some small thing to help, then I will. You sure make me feel good with your suggestions!

What an amazing and beautiful landscape. My dad feels the same way you do about selling his photography - it's fun now. If it was work, it would be work and not fun anymore.

@tinygremlins Your Dad is a wise man, Allie. I'm glad you like this image, and thanks for the fav.
