Mountain Goat

Every winter, mountain goats show up in the Snake River Canyon near Alpine, Wyoming. We have been there many times, but this is only the third time I have been lucky enough to see some, and this is easily the closest I have gotten to one. My lucky day!
How wonderful! It is a true find to come upon such an animal! You captured him beautifully in the light!

@brucegrayum It sure was, Bruce. There were two adults and one little one just a short distance up the canyon. There were rock slide nets in the area, and much of the time they intruded in the photos. Fortunately, this one posed nicely. When you get a day off, lets try again.

@gigiz I guess I should point you to a bear picture, Gigi. This one was taken early in my project: http://365project.org/rvwalker/365/2012-05-04. Meanwhile, I was thrilled to discover this wonderful creature today.

@jgpittenger Thanks, Jane. I got lucky on the backdrop. There were two others nearby, but most of the time they were standing in a big steel net designed to catch rock slides. This one cooperated.
