Trumpeter Swans in Bear River by rvwalker

Trumpeter Swans in Bear River

A family of trumpeter swans found an ice free section of Bear River and stopped to bathe. After they got used to my truck, they dipped their heads over and over, splashed a lot of water, then spread their wings. After awhile, they climbed onto the snow, spreading their wings again for balance. What a sight!

More swan photos can be seen on my blog here: http://rosswalkerphotos.blogspot.com/2013/02/trumpeter-swans.html

Update: This made the PP for the second time! I didn't know that could happen, but it got several late favs. Thanks, everyone. You are all amazing!
