Whilst Bindweed looks attractive, too often it likes to wander and impose itself where it is not welcome. This lace cap hydrangea could shortly be struggling to maintain its integrity.

This was taken in the garden at the Grotte...which belongs to Paimpont Abbey, 15 minutes brisk walk away. In preparation for the Feast of the Assumption on 15 August, the Grotte will be having a big tidy up and clean. The menfolk (Richard included), circa 20 of them, will cut back the foliage, clean all the alleys and paths etc., a whole day's work. The ladies, yes me too, will clean the shrine, the benches, wash all the memorial stones etc. and then put everything back. It's a major Feast Day in the Catholic calendar and the open air Mass at the Grotte is attended by many, residents and visitors alike.
Here we call this Morngin Glory. My FIL was a gardner and he called it D***ned old morning glory. It can grow so quickly. I have it all over my yard. A lovely shot of the hydrangea. I like the dappled sunlight.

Unadulterated daylight!
I agree, it's an attractive flower...with very bad manners!
