...visit to IKEA. Fell across some IKEA items we don't need/want, so decided to return them in exchange for more interesting ones. There were, inevitably, a string of people before me. To relieve my boredom...exceptionally I didn't have a book with me...took this shot. More boredom. Worse still after 30 mins wait, couldn’t exchange items for voucher etc. as have tarried beyond the 365 day limit and my items are not part of the current stock. Sigh ;-((.
Undaunted, I bought what I intended and...went clothes shopping;-)) Every cloud...

Without difficulty succeeded to buy 2 knockabout fleece sweaters, a rather smarty party navy blue trouser suit, a short dress/trouser tunic, a pair of navy ankle boots, 2 pairs of angora mix socks and a pair of earrings. Not a bad haul;-). No IKEA items...nul points! Came home to a tasty lunch and a couple of welcome and well deserved (IMHO) glasses of wine...all prepared by R. Me very lucky girl :-).
I would love to be let loose in Ikea but hubby wouldn’t like the wait or the bill at the end of the shop!! Nice candid and as you say clothes shopping is a deffo silver lining!!

Good idea...in our dreams! What you the notice says is that you can change an unused item, aka as new, for up to a year after purchase. Thereafter a 'bon'...a voucher...of the value will be given if the item is still in stock/on sale. Mine wasn't. Win some, lose some.
The only thing that can persuade me to accompany Mrs S to IKEA is the prospect of lunch in their restaurant - excellent food and excellent value - otherwise it drives me crazy that I can't just go to where they have what I want to buy... you are routed around the whole store!

R is quite right...IKEA is a labyrinth and all stores are built and arranged to the same formula. I thought I knew my way around. More than 12 months' absence clearly was a tadge too much... I found myself in the same place 3 times! Woe is me ;-(
I like how you've framed the shop clerk's face - she seems to be the only happy one there, everyone else has stiff body language! After reading your description, I can tell it is a tough place to be!
