Today is the day that the Mayor of Paimpont invites all Paimpont's residents to his annual Reception. He and his team gave us a summary of last year's achievements and an outline of what is planned for 2019. This was followed by a Champagne Reception, soft drinks where appropriate and a wonderful and continuous selection of delicious savoury pastries. This is a unmissable event in Paimpont's calendar. We (all) see folk we haven’t seen for ages, shoot the breeze, chew the cud and go home with a spring in our step, warmed by bonhomie.

Whilst Paimpont does what all the surrounding communes do, I always feel that it’s special @ P. No logic, never attended a similar bash in a neighboring commune, as generally all held on the same date. Yet we do have this spacious building which is ideal for P's population. It's also a popular venue for wedding & Baptism receptions, birthday bashes, musical and/or dancing etc. A very dashing feather in P's cap. @quietpurplehaze

Having spent a most convivial and prolonged sociable interlude, we were amongst the last to leave. Although I’d brought my camera, hadn't taken a shot. Everyone else had gone, so this shot is evidence that I was there ;-)
You have a lovely community feel in Paimpont which I think is rare nowadays. I am glad of the chance to apologise for the rubbish spellings in my comments: having noticed one in the original comment, I then decided to apologise only to find I had made many more in the apology! ( I think I am the only person to find the iPad so annoying and I should stop using it for comments....)
