Treasure, 13 Poignant Departure

Here's Mum seeing off my elder brother from Ramsey, Isle of Man. He's lived most of his life in Scotland and has been happily settled with his family on the outskirts of Edinburgh for many years.

This was taken about 2009 when Mum was living in sheltered accommodation.

His route was northwards via the Caledonian Canal.
Wonderful. From what I can see of your Mum in this photo, she still looks a very elegant lady

Indeed she was. She died peacefully in 2012.

it must have been hard for her to see him sail off - this is captured so well in the postures :)

Sad to hear she is no longer there but this photo shows a lot in her life!

She was feisty lady - we didn't always see eye-to-eye... but I respected her enormously.

I remember my mother standing at the door of her house when I took off to come back to my current home. Made me tear up every time. I'll bet your mother had the same look on her face.

Afterthought - could this have been the last time that your mother saw Pete?
