Full Fig? by s4sayer

Full Fig?

Have been told that you can't get a fig tree to grow from a cutting. Having done nothing to intervene, it would be fair to say that it has probably enjoyed the benefit of the farmer's fertiliser for his grain crop...long since harvested.

Well done on your horticulture success and a lovely photo too

I hope it does grow for you. Figs off the tree are so tasty.

Am (reliably?) told that the chance of these becoming a tasty treat is somewhat remote. I suspect that there's little soil nutrient left, given that this year's crop was maize. Am happily startled that this intrepid fig tree has done so well...so far!

Lovely sky - I know nothing about fig trees.

The point here is that it is a secondary growth from the root ball after the tree itself died... we'll see what happens to these half-formed fruits.
