Get me out of here...please!

This oak tree, enormously diminished by rampant ivy, has no remaining force. It has suffered this diminishing state for several years. Whilst I don't know who owns this land, it's 10 minutes walk from V. This has been a magnificent tree in its day...and I'm saddened that such a once splendid oak can only degrade. Another victim of neglect.

OB
You're so right about this but the land belongs to M. Nicholas and he's in no fit state to do anything about this poor tree... it's probably too late anyway.

Maybe our neck of the woods needs a ‘cause'...

But it's a fantastic micro ecosystem for unseen creatures and a fabulous subject for you.

Oh, dear, that ivy has a good grip! Love your caption and the image.

Perfect caption! And yes, the fight against ivy is long, difficult and treacherous...

It's like a picture on the current situation - hopefully we don't struggle in vain.

It is never too late. That ivy is so invasive though.

I wouldn't have known it was on the endangered list (that's how much I know about Dendrology) but I like the look that you have captured here.
