Chania is a stray who arrived when her previous owners moved and left their cats to fend for themselves. C has been here 11 years and as this shot suggests, she shows no urgency to move. Whilst we’re uncertain of her age, the vet's best estimate is 14/15. She's an experienced hunter.
She knew where to move to. We had a cat when we first moved to Australia 30 years ago, she belonged to a neighbour in our first house and decided to move in with us. The neighbour said 'she won't stay because she is a wanderer' but she stayed with us for 17 years until she passed away.
We were adopted by a cat who produced three kittens four weeks later! We kept one of them, and he and his mother stayed with us for the rest of their lives.
Sweet pic! This is the same thing that happened with our latest family member. They moved and left their animals behind. Katniss was pregnant and picked us to help her. She has been with us for 4 years and is about 5 years old...love her so much!
