I am always delighted to see Bikers at Paimpont..and there are many who pass during the Summer months. I chatted with these guys for a little while…and with their permission took this shot. Certainly not the best l've ever taken ;-(
Porcaro, a small hamlet about 30 minutes from P, welcomes bikers from all over the world, especially on 15 August, the Feast of the Assumption. On this day Mass is celebrated in the open air. Thereafter, the assembled visitors stay for the lunch they've brought with them. Thereafter…if you're up for it…is the the moment to mount your bike again…and pass through all the villages and hamlets…until you reach Ploermel…about an hour from Porcaro.
This not a race, rather a day out in mid-summer for all to see and enjoy this roar of motorbikes bringing colour, joy and bonhomie to so many.
It makes my heart sing.
We’ve been twice, albeit many moons ago. The bonhomie, the moment to talk to folk you’re unlikely to see ever again…and everyone in top form. Can't beat it!
