The sedge has withered from the lake and no bird sings

The title for this shot is from John Keats' 'La Belle Dame Sans Merci', one of my favourite poems. Keats was melancholic…and l hope that this shot, veiled by mist and bare branches…could represent the moods he suffered.

It does indeed & it’s very beautiful in its melancholiness. What a dreadful affliction……but he used it to his & ours advantage with his beautiful poetry.
