Testing, testing...

This is a complement to today's main photo. It's a long established French custom that the menfolk have a refreshing glass of wine during their hot work. Where else to keep it cool but in the stream which flows through the Grotte and eventually into Paimpont Lake? There are 3 bottles chilling here, 2 of which are obscured by M quenching her thirst. I was amused to see the wire that had been inserted to loosen any leaves/debris in the pipe, thus keeping the wine suitably cool. Cool, eh?!
It looks like the stream has many uses for all :).

What a great custom, and of course M getting her drink

Great custom to uphold. Neat way to ensure chilled wine.

"Pale yellow color ... intense nose of dried fruits, date, almond ... a touch of lime..." No, I never tasted Les Vignes Blanches, just info from the vineyard's website. And it looks... cool!

Obviously wine is a more acceptable cooling drink than a cold beer! And the bottles are facing away from the current which is wise!

A little bit of Paimpont life. Around here it would more likely be beer cans.

A great idea to keep the wine cold. The water must be very cold.

I can confirm that the wine was nicely chilled... and very refreshing, if a bit moreish!

It seems like an excellent idea to me. Now how do I get a stream to flow on my property?!

Here here for traditions, now for the women folk, they are inside drinking the champagne- oui?
