Okay, although I admit I'm not much of a fan of The Royals, the whole event was genuinely romantic with little touches during the day like William saying within a tree-lined cathedral (at their request, they wanted field green maples inside to bring in a modern element) to Kate with a grin, "You look beautiful" Apparently, they also wanted the archbishop to be dressed as a maple tree also, but he put his foot down (just kidding) It was very much a happy occasion or a reason to just enjoy the spring spectacle & have a day off. I especially liked the fly-by over the balcony by the 60 year old Lancaster bomber and the two Spitfires (William an RAF, search and rescue helicopter pilot) even though it was brief, it was a highlight for me.
Let's hope that the couple have a better track record with their marriage than most of the other royals! So many royal marriages have felt awkward and contrived, but this was at its heart two young people giving their vows with enjoyment and looking forward to continuing a life together. I think they will have a good chance too judging by their obvious affection towards each other, and wish them well. :)
As close as I'm getting to a fairy tale so it was great to watch even at a Canadian Pacific time zone! So needing an afternoon nap but it was worth it! Great collage.
This was as close to a fairy tale as we will get the in the real world. I was intrigued, I was beguiled...it was beautiful. And for the record, I was AMAZED at the orderly fashion of the crowd...wow.
Nice collage, and the maple-tree lined cathedral was spectacular. Perfect timing..was prime time TV viewing in Oz as Kate arrived at the church smack on 8pm.
Beautiful collage! It was hard not to be moved by the ceremony and romance. Lovely for millions of people to pause and celebrate love, committment and the promise of happiness together. And quite amazing in this modern day to witness the old traditions of horse-drawn carriages and guards in historic uniforms!
