Firstly, I've been wanting to use a shot using noise for sometime, but been unable to find anything suitable. This is pushing my camera to its night time limits. I know there is a fair degree of noise in this, yet I quite like it. It reminds me of dawbs of paint on an oil painting which seems to suit the scene. To my mind, if it were noise-free and pinpoint sharp, it'd have lost everything that I like in it.
I'm a sucker for darkness shots, I'm not sure I agree that a sharp shot with good tone and colour work would lose charisma points, but this shot is a cracker in its own right. FAV
It reminds me of a pastel painting or a painting on velvet. Great thinking to work with the noise rather than trying to eliminate it. It looks very effective.
