I know you are all saying, what kind of a bird is this? LOL, so I do take other things besides birds and shore birds once in a while. Saw this on some train tracks and couldn't resist taking a shot of it cause I don't know what it is. Looks like it has brushes underneath it. It was moving down the tracks one day making quite a bit of noise. Any train people out there who could tell me what it is??
Haven't a clue what it's for but if it's for getting rid of the 'wrong type of snow' and leaves from the line, we could do with a fleet of them in the UK, 'cause that's what causes dleays on our railways! :-D
Intriguing shot, I like the angle and composition.
I was going to say probably a train track cleaner too. I love all the comments above and sitting here laughing as this. Showed to my husband and he said a junk picker upper on wheels. Did you ever figure it out? Great shot of it.

I agree that it could be a track cleaner. It’s definitely not a 'gravel dropper and leveller outer’ (those exist, but I don’t know the proper name), because those have legs to rise themselves off the tracks and hooks to lift the tracks when necessary. It’s not a snow cleaner, either. However, those two black boxes make me wonder if it could be a machine to thaw out switches when they ice over?
