Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
The colours are beautiful and this is a lovely tribute photo. As for your get pushed challenge this week... I've taken a look at your albums and one of the things I don't see much of are portraits... (and selfies but I see you've had that as a push challenge before). So this week I'm challenging you to try some candid portraits. I'd like to see your subject/s fairly close up. Here is an article you may find helpful to get your started. http://digital-photography-school.com/11-tips-for-better-candid-photography I hope you'll enjoy this push and find some good subjects to practice on. And I hope it will help you feel a bit more comfortable photographing people too.
Sally, as you'll probably have realised by now I'm not big on flower pictures, but this is a nice one and and a fitting memoriam. Truly, your words are touching.
@kiwichick This is a serious challenge for me as I really struggle with human shots!! I will make a plan to get out there (I work from home and don't go out daily!). I hope the weather will not effect my efforts as we have rain forecast for the rest of the week. I hope I can give you what you are asking :-)
@automaticslim I hear you totally. When I first picked up the camera I thought I would do landscapes, especially since we live in a really picturesque valley! Yet I find myself doing macro and flower shot... go figure. Still have a major problem when it comes to humans.
Hi Sally, perhaps you could take your camera shopping with you. Stop at a coffee shop and try clicking a few sneaky shots? Or just shoot from the hip as you walk around the shops? See how you go.
@kiwichick This is my plan, although the coffee shop on a weekday in a small village is rather deserted! I may have to resort to using the point and shoot for a stroll aound the super market (whick is also not very large!) We have no shopping malls either just a few shops scattered along the main road.
I didn't realise you were in a small town. If you'd prefer to make it a non-candid portrait then that's okay too. Shall we say a close up people shot? I love the farmer shot you took a few weeks ago!
@kiwichick I shall endevour to get a candid shot. We have an Afrikaans expression in South Africa that states "n boer maak 'n plan" which literally means to make a plan, sort of like "if there's a will there's a way!"
So sorry for your loss.
