Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
i know what you're saying. last night i saw the moon but it was so freaking windy and cold i didn't dare take a photo. it's been bleak the last three weeks sky-wise. great shot, my friend.
A beautiful moon shot as always! I almost went out to take the half moon last night but talked myself out of it. Of course tonight it's too overcast to see the moon. When will I learn?!
Great moon shot Sally. Now, not to be a wet rag, but technically this is last-quarter moon. A new moon is one when the sun illuminates the side away from the earth and appears basically blank to us earthlings....which wouldn't be a very interesting photo anyway. But we'll just keep that between us, OK? ;-)
The first quarter is when the lit side is on the right - it's the first side that get illuminated after a new moon. The last quarter moon is when the left side is illuminated, as it is in your photo......or maybe it's reversed in South Africa? ;-)
@stray_shooter north and south hemisphere do see the moon differently ie flipped. A year or more back Vikki Summerfield and I did a comparison, I will look through my albums and find it and will tag you.
