Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
Wow - I see synchronicity again!
Maybe not have the pole quite so centered? If you've got more of the shot, I'd love to see it placed off to the right.
The focus on the wire is great - you def don't want to lose that tho!
Love all the texture of the wire. I agree about a little more off center. I would also think about the possibility of a tighter crop just on the fence.
@kwiksilver@tigerdreamer I hardly cropped this shot so I'll have a look at a different crop. I know there is a telephone pole just to the right. I also like the twisted barbed wire on the right which may get lost if I crop that side. I also like the mountain in the background which would also be lost on a tighter crop, but I will try it out.
Great shot...the shallow DOF and out of focus mountain is superb! I agree with @kwiksilver though, that I would like the pole more on a third. Moving your camera/POV just a few centimetres to the right side, still aiming for the same view of the mountain, may give you just that (in other words: if you position your camera so that you still have the same line of the mountain in the picture, but the big pole is just underneath or slightly to the left of the highest peak)...unless the telephone pole is in the way...in that case, take a chain saw with you!
@kwiksilver@ericdibosco I have experimented with the crop you guys suggested but for me I lose the elements I really like and the left side has some horrid distractions. May have been why I did the central positioning in the first place!
@salza So often the initial decision or instinct remains the best one. And so often the suggested alternative viewpoints, compositions or crops are just not practical or achievable!
