@mirroroflife there are numerous simple tutorials around that explain how to very simply achieve these effects. For me the most difficult part is waiting for dark or finding an area to use that will be dark enough. For the black background and below the glass ball I used a black garbage bag (a piece of black fabric would be ideal). My lights are coloured finger torches.
