expect the unexpected

This made me happy today! Croz and I went for a walk before the rain comes. I was actually looking down a lot to find something to do macro. I was thrilled to see this bluebird sitting on the fence. Usually they are so skittish that I can't get them. Luckily, I had my 55-200mm lens on me, which is rare. I normally don't carry that lens while walking. So it pays to look up every once in awhile and expect the unexpected.

Thanks for stopping by my project. Your comments and favs are always so appreciated.

Thanks for getting my sage photo on PP& TP yesterday-- I actually got to see it on there!
Truly a gift. This also made me smile. FAV!

@joysabin thanks Joy - brought a little sunshine on a rainy day — and yes we do miss AZ. Lived there from 1986 to 1998 when Boeing moved us to England. Both of my boys were born there. Have been back several times and it sure has grown. We lived out by Suoerstition Mountain before there was even a highway out that far. Later we moved to Red Mountain.

@samae that is a difficult question. I might have tried cropping the bottom part of the fence so as not to be distracted by the horizontal line of it which slopes downwards. So, if doing that, I would have taken the right side of the image off to give it a more balanced shape. But I like the tree in the background on the right so ……. ?

beautiful, close-up and colormatching

@helenhall thanks for letting me know what you think ...you’ve helped me in the past with my cropping. I started to crop the bottom but like you said it felt off balanced and I didn’t want to loose the background-so I didn’t know what to do . I didn’t want to crop it so tight because I liked the colors — hopefully I will see him again soon and I am armed with my bigger lens - thx for your time

Beautiful lil bird, the colors are very pleasing to my eyes....I think the downward slope of the rail is fine. Bc if you crop it off, you'll lose the lowered left side of the fence. But do whatever makes you happy! But I think its great as is.....fav

@samae tricky eh? It is delightful as it is.

Nice shot of this guy! Really like the colors. I’m wondering if in composing the shot if you had kept the bird more to the right 3rd of the scene would have made this even better. Well done though.
