Gone South for the Winter by samae

Gone South for the Winter

As we kayaked under this bridge, we saw all these empty Barn Swallow nests. There must have been hundreds. I particularly liked the way they made a ring around the post. Apparently the swallows go south in the winter to South America, Africa, Southern Asia and all the way to northern Australia.

Going to be a full house as my sons and their girlfriends are coming for the weekend. I may not be able to come up for air to check in with your projects.
Have a great weekend.
Reminds me of boating on the St Johns River!! Several overpasses and lots of nests! Nicely captured!!

The underside of bridges always make excellent photo subjects. Have a lovely time with your family.
