William Burke and William Hare stalking their next prey under the walls of San Gimignano. That’s what this aged couple, one with a walking stick, seemed to me as they walked peacefully around the old walls of San Gimignano.
Ever heard of Burke and Hare? These two men were sentenced for committing a series of murders in Edinburgh, Scotland over a period of about ten months in 1828. William Burke and William Hare sold the corpses of their 16 victims to Doctor Robert Knox as dissection material for his well-attended anatomy lectures.

Grizzly story! Thankfully the picture didn't make me think like that at all. I don't know why but the figures made me think of hobbits! And because of that happier image, it became a fav!
