Shots taken last week-end.
After a long spell of warm weather we had 3 thunderstorms in a row – 2 of them at night. The first one started with a show of lightning and thunder that lasted for over an hour while we were out and I wanted to bite myself because I had no camera, the second was during daytime next day – not a good time to take shots of the lightning - and the third was the day after while I was sitting in front of the tv. At a certain point, after it had been thundering for quiet some time, I lifted myself from my armchair and decided to go on the top terrace of the house which is covered by a fibreglass canopy to take some shots. It was around midnight and the storm had almost passed away. I took many shots 99% of them blanks but I did manage the three shots in this collage.
To say the truth, I was very uncertain what settings to use – I first tried with those I use to capture fireworks, gradually upping the speed and the iso and diminishing the aperture. I have to do some homework on these type of shots.

A perfect three some Dione. well taken. I do see them on the tv, they seem to point to the area, hold the camera in open, wait for the next strike, then close the shutter. fav.
