Last Sunday, the St Julians Local Council organised Jum Lapsi (Pentecost). The celebration commemorated the coming of the Grand Master of the Order to the then fishing village of St Julians. The event included a re-enactment, a few farm animals to see, and stalls with Maltese craft.
There was a team of 3 actors loading and shooting these ‘portable’ antique front-loading guns while waiting for the arrival of the ‘Grandmaster’.
Joke: Three knights of the Order of St John die in battle but before God would let them into heaven, He gave them a chance to come back to the world as anything they wanted.
The first knight said, “I want to come back as myself, but 100 times smarter.” So God made him 100 times smarter.
The second knight said, “I want to be better than that guy, make me 1000 times smarter.” So God made him 1000 times smarter.
The last knight, who was the most ambitious of the three, decided he would be the best. So he said, “God, make me better than both of them, make me 1,000,000 times smarter.” So God sent him back as a dame.
I went to watch Malta play against Bulgaria in the Euro Nations Cup qualifiers. We lost 0 -1. Wasn't an exciting match at all. The Maltese did their best and equalled the Bulgarians with regard to skills but we lost, still. I took some shots with the Panasonic.
