End of a memorable day.
From the 4rd day of our Sicily holiday - 22st September, 2015.
When we arrived at Palazzo Giovanni after a wonderful day touring Etna and the Gole di Alcantara it was too late to plan where to go for dinner. So after a quick shower we went to Acireale, the main city of the area which is only around twenty minutes drive from Stazzo with the hope of finding someplace where we could have something to eat. We were disappointed after such a memorable day when we had to do with a sandwich which wasn’t enough for Ian.
But the camera was happy to capture some shots of the Cathedral – shown here – and two other churches adjacent to it.
Joke: In Acireale I met a wise old man walking home in the dark and I asked him how was it that he was out so late and he replied: "If you want to change the world, do it when you are a bachelor. After marriage, you can't even change a TV channel..." and he just continued on his way.
Thank you very much for looking and for all the lovely comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
A wonderful magical moment captured here when the city is virtually empty and still ,with the city lights illuminating the cathedral and the other buildings -- A lovely night shot Dione !
