The other day Christine had nothing special on our minds and since it was a lovely day, although a bit cold, we decided to take the morning off and go for a walk in the area of Wied Iż- Żurrieq, an area we very rarely go to.
Wied iż-Żurrieq is a tiny harbour set in a narrow inlet in the cliffs and guarded by a watchtower. It used to serve the small fishing community of the area. Today besides fishing trips, weather permitting, boats take out tourists for an enjoyable 30-minute cruise to the Blue Grotto , a huge natural arch in the sea cliffs 400m to the east. The boat trips also take in seven caves, including the Honeymoon Cave, Reflection Cave and Cat's Cave.
The boats were quite busy on the day we went there as you can see from this picture.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
A super pov of this wonderful scene Love the calmness of the wonderful blue sea , except for the turbulence caused by the two passing boats . it must have been an ideal site for pirates in the olden days ! fav
How lovely that you can simply decide one morning to walk in such a beautiful area! And this is a strong result -- I get a sense of how high up you were to view this scene.
