Once last shot from the last Sunday of August and the feast of the parish of St Gregory. This is a stall that sells ‘qubbajd’ meaning ‘nougat’. Stalls selling food of all sorts and others selling toys, artificial jewellery, ect. follow the route of the feasts around Malta. ‘Tal-qubbajd’ is the only traditional stall that still fights for a place among the burger and chip, hot dog and other food stalls set up during parish feasts.
The parish festas are very popular with Maltese and tourists alike and draw thousands of people who go to enjoy the atmosphere and create some good business for the sellers.
Tomorrow I will start a new series of shots from our extended week-end break in Sicily of the last but one week-end of August.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
A very enticing capture - very interesting too, lots to see. The central, circular, display cabinet intrigues me, I've never seen one quite like that before.
