Do you remember where the story stopped yesterday?
Well the male gull had pushed his mate right to the edge of the concrete screaming and shouting at her. Suddenly the female gull stopped her retreat and with a few flapping of her wings flew up over the male and shouted “Are you going to shut up? Or do I have to make you to?” But he would not stop. So Mrs Gull just made him do just as she had said. She caught his beak between hers and pressed them shut herself and wouldn’t let go until he promised he would not say another single word.
And that is the end of my story. In fact, after this quarrel, one of the gulls admitted defeat and flew off to another location. I didn’t know before this episode that gulls quarrel and fight over their territory.
