I did not wake up to capture the eclipse of the moon but I took a few shots when I came home after a day out and before I went to bed. The shot on the left was taken at 6.30pm with my Nikon D3400 and a 16-200 zoom lens and the one on the right with my Panasonic Bridge camera FZ45 which has a 24x zoom lens at around 11.30pm. The size of the moon and colour looked no different to other days and the wolf must have been hiding behind the moon. Too lazy to wake up early for more shots.
These are nice moon shots, interesting seeing the difference in position of the moon relative to the earth. It's unusual seeing the moon a different colour, which is why I took those shots the other night. I did get up to see the eclipse to find total cloud cover, so went back to bed.
Interesting to compare the shots, both of which are strong. Sad to have missed the blood moon/wolf moon — but I was in the exact same position as you and totally missed it.
They're both beautiful! It was hard to see the larger size through the trees here, but it was quite noticeable in spite of them. I couldn't take a picture though until it was much higher in the sky. It was too icy to drive somewhere for a better shot. I think these are just fine!
