This is another small square in the village of Għarb, Gozo. People in these small rural villages wake up at, or even before, dawn and go work their fields until the heat of the sun overwhelms them than go home rest and maybe go back to their work when the sun starts going down. That is perhaps why the village looked so empty. On the day I was there the sunshine was very strong and I was dressed for cooler weather but I had to lump it. I’m sure you have noticed the telephone box from the colonial era – there are quite a few of them around the Maltese Islands – a reminder of the past. The trees are olive trees which grow very well in our climate.
Many thanks for all your views, comments and favs. Always much appreciated.
Wonderful capture and colour tones in this quiet village square , Love the pavers and the architectural style - I love the red phone box ,but completely out of style with the rest !
