Feast of (Our Lady) Star of the Sea.
I promised I would post some shots of the fireworks of this parish feast. In this part of Malta I was brought up and my mum and dad loved their feast very much. The fireworks were a magnificent spectacle and the feast was Sunday exactly a week ago; the fireworks were on the previous night, the eve of the feast.
I had a problem to select which shots of the more than a hundred I took to post but I hope you will enjoy those I have selected for you. In this collage are two of the bigger coloured rockets, each of which filled the sky when they exploded very high up.
Today is the feast of the parish of St Julians, which is close to where we go out in the evening. I had no intention of capturing more fireworks this year but I still took the camera just in case. And I fell to the temptation of taking pictures and am not sorry that I did. Maybe I will post one or two shots someday.
The last feast for this Summer in the area close to Sliema is that of St Gregory and will be the next weekend, one week after that of St Julians.
