From Max and my visit to the Salina salt pans.
There were many gulls on the dividing walls around the pans – resting after their breakfast – I guess. This cross, in the middle of the salt pans looks somewhat strange though beautiful to see. It looks like the old market crosses that you see in old towns and villages. However, since the Order of St. John was a religious order, one could also think it was placed there to honour their beliefs. I tried to google it but could not find any information as to why it is placed there.
Thanks a lot for your views, comments and fav's.
Thanks. I also googled to see the story behind the cross. There is lots of information. I also could not get information. On one of the sites on internet there is place you can ask questions.
